Building materials & equipment exhibit/forum on at SMX

The country’s biggest construction show and forum is back!

Today, November 9,  marks the opening of PhilConstruct 2011, dubbed as the biggest trade event in the Philippines featuringconstruction equipment, building materials, and interior and exterior design products. The show is expected to “take over the entire SMX Convention Center in the Mall of Asia Complex for an exposition spanning 35,000 sq m.”  The show will be on until November 12.

On its 21st year, the event is organized by the Philippine Construction Association (PCA) headed by its president, Levy Espiritu.

An estimated 600 companies and 27 countries will be taking part in PhilConstruct 2011.  The event will feature developments in the industry not only from the local scene but also from Australia, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, and the United States of America, among others.

Some of the brands that have set up booths are Boral Plasterboard, Co Ban Kiat Hardware Concepcion-Carrier Air Conditining, CEMEX Philippines, Davies Paint, Holcim Phils., Hilti, Home Depot, Lefarge Cement Services, Maxima Machineries, Monark Equipment, Boysen Paints, Puyat Steel Corp, Qishu Heavy Equipment, Robert Bosch, and Trane Philippines.

About 50,000 visitors, including contractors, engineers, developers, interior designers, project managers, and end users/home owners,  are expected to attend the event, according to PCA executive director Manolito Madrasto.

The exhibit will be open to trade buyers and professionals from 1 pm on November 9 and 10:30 am on November 10 TO 12.  Show hours will be until 6 pm on the first three days and until 5 pm on the last day.
