Manager’s Course alumni urged to join Grand Homecoming

Graduates of the UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries’ (UP ISSI) Manager’s Course (MC)  — from its first run in 1971 to its current 100th run — are invited to the MC Grand Alumni Homecoming to be held on Saturday, August 25, at the UP ISSI’s 2nd floor plaza.

Considered the UP ISSI’s centerpiece program, the MC has, for the past 41 years, been changing managerial perspectives and triggering innovations in the workplaces of its more than 4,000 graduates. It is conducted in cooperation with the Small Enterprises Research and Development Foundation (SERDEF).

The alumni event will begin at 6:00 p.m. right after the graduation of the 100th MC class.  It will feature a homecoming dinner, recognition of outstanding MC Alumni in various fields such as industry, education and public service, games and raffles.  There will be special prizes for the “most-represented MC batch” and the Homecoming “King” and “Queen.”

The event which will feature the theme “Balik tanaw sa gumabay sa aming tagumpay” will be one of the highlights of the UP ISSI’s anniversary celebration this year.

Among those who have signified their attendance are former MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando who belonged to the pioneer MC class and Jolibee’s Tony Cak Tiong who attended the fourth MC batch.

MC alumni are also invited to attend other anniversary activities including the National Conference on New Developments and Best Practices in Management and Entrepreneurship to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the announcement of finalists in the Best Innovative Techno Enterprise Competition for Students (BITES) from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
