‘Tayo na sa Carinderia Fiesta’ — SMC

Carinderia entrepreneurs — including those in the planning or even in the dreaming stage — are invited to join Carinderia Fiesta 2012 on October 5-6 at the World Trade Center.

An advocacy of San Miguel and Pure Foods Corporation, Carinderia Fiesta will be a gathering of owners of carinderias on the one hand and suppliers of food and other materials on the other  as a means for both groups  to conduct business with and learn from each other.

The Carinderia Fiesta event is the first and possibly still the only organized showcase for carinderias, of which there are an estimated three million all over the country.

It was estimated that “tens of thousands” of participants joined the first Carinderia Fiesta held in September last year.  Carinderia owners had an opportunity to showcase their best meals to the crowd while learning ways to improve their products and services to their customers.

There is always one or more carinderias in every neighborhood, providing families, students, office workers, and professionals convenient, affordable and often delicious meals at all times of day.   More than 90 per cent of carinderias are micro enterprises with little or no direct links to suppliers and access to business assistance and support programs.

According to SMC, the event recognizes the carinderia “as a force to reckon with in the food industry” and “as a major distribution channel for many products and services.”

Fiesta Carinderia is open to the public.  For more information, call (63-2)899 1943 or email  [email protected].
