Google invites SMEs to 4-week online success journey

googleSmall businesses — most of them, anyway — think that establishing a presence online is expensive and require technical skills they may not have.

On the contrary, more and more forward-looking small entrepreneurs are beginning to discover that their business can grow quickly and inexpensively by going digital.

At a briefing held recently in Singapore, Ghislain Le Chatelier, Google regional head for small and medium business in Southeast Asia, said that the Internet has been transforming small businesses as they use digital tools to market and promote their products and communicate their messages to virtually the world.

“Digital marketing helps small businesses look big.  It allows them to scale, expand their reach, and have access to new countries, new clients, and markets.  It also allows firms to be very efficient in terms of targeting customers.

He invited small businessmen in the region to join Google’s four-week success plan to grow their business, which will allow them to get together with business partner teams in their home country that will help them expand, optimize and grow their online presence.

These partners can help address concerns of small businesses, such as how to advertise online, begin expanding to other markets, increase traffic on their website, formulate effective ads that will translate to improved sales and profits, and access potential markets through mobile presence.
