Fourteen companies and businessmen were recently honored by the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) for excellence in business growth and ethical practices at the 12th Franchise Excellence Awards.

The Franchise Excellence Award  is a platform that recognizes the country’s best-managed companies which are benchmarks for all franchising businesses. FEA brings the standard of franchisors to a higher level, both in terms of business operations and ethical practices, thus, positioning the franchises as forerunners in the growth and development of the franchising sector.

This year’s winners are:  Max’s Restaurant, President’s Awardee for food category; Bench, President’s Awardee for retail category; BPI Ka-Negosyo Franchising Loan, PLDT SME Nation and PLDT Alpha Enterprise, Chairman’s Awardees; PR Gas, Inc., Filipino Franchise of the Year (Service, Medium Store category); The Generics Pharmacy (Filipino Franchise of the Year (Retail: Medium Store category); Krispy Kreme, International Master Franchise of the Yedar (Food: Large Store category);

Mister Donut, International Master Franchise of the Year (Food: Small Store category); Shakey’s, Best Overall Marketing Campaign of the Year (Retail: Medium Store category); Mister Donut (Best Overall Marketing Campaign of the Year (Food: Small Store category); Jolibee Food Corporation’s Busog, Lugsog, Talino School Feeding Program, Advocacy Program of the Year; and Solerex Water Technologies’ Disaster Water Relief Program, Special Citation for Advocacy Program.

In his message, President Benigno Aquino III cited the Awards as being instrumental in raising the competitiveness of PFA member- enterprises.    “By recognizing best practices, you imbue a culture of excellence in your industry and show the world that Philippine brands are truly world class.”

Launched in 1998, the Awards program encourages development of franchise companies in both domestic and international market and pursues the following objectives: to promote and sustain the growth of franchising as a tool for national development; to empower and professionalize homegrown franchises to be able to meet world-class standards; and to actively promote Filipino franchises internationally.
