Seminar on laundry business opens June 14

A training program on how to put up and run a laundry business will be conducted by the Golden Treasures Skills and Development Program on June 14 to 15 at the College of Social Work and Community Development, Magsaysay Avenue, UP Diliman Campus.

The program will cover all aspects of a laundry service business, including the cleaning process, laundry shop layout,  types of laundry, care labels guide, equipment requirements, workflow and handling of special garments like barong tagalong, suits and gowns.

Participants will be taught how to do a feasibility study on the business, including computation of start-up costs, break-even points, and return on investments.

The discussion on workflow will be comprehensive, from receiving, sorting, segregating, and tagging to soaking, washing, drying, folding and packing.

A bonus training on the complementary businesses of  water-refilling and production of soap powder, laundry detergent, fabric softener and liquid bleach will be included in the two day program.
