Two of the three winners in the SERDEF’s Brand Slam Contest, dubbed as the search for the next big small brand, received their cash prizes at the SERDEF office last Friday, October 5.
Receiving P25,000 is grand prize winner Philip Adrian Jara of FTW (For the World/For the Wardrobe) Apparel, an distributor of a wide range of sling bags, footwear and casual clothes online. Deli Rice’s Ofelia Chianpian won a runner-up prize of P10,000.
Another runner-up winner is couple Antonio and Clara Cabaero of Salamog Food Products which is Cebu-based.
The contest was run from July 1 to September 30 in commemoration of Small and Medium Enterprise Month in July.
The winners were chosen on the basis of the following criteria pertaining to brands: meaningful and likeable “personality;” transferability and adaptability; aesthetics and creativity; and easy recall and being distinctive. .
Present during the awarding were Brand Slam judges Ma. Lourdes Tirona-Lopez and Arlene Eleanor Liberal, both members of the SERDEF Research and Information Committee; Serenidad F. Lavador, Trustee and technical adviser; and Myrna R. Co, Media Consultant.
