Mall-based business centers enable registering a business name while shopping

Since last year, businessmen have been filing, paying and acquiring their Business Name Registration Certificates at mall-based  Business Centers.

The SM chain of malls and department stores recently renewed its tie-up with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to continue to make it easy for customers to transact business with the agency while doing their shopping in the store.

SM Business Service Center is billed as a one stop service center located in most SM Malls specifically designed to extend government services and bills payment services to the public. The Business Service Center also provides currency exchange services, remittance services, sale of prepaid cards among others.

At the Business Centers, customers can fill up the requisite form, submit requirements, and pay the prescribed fee and gets their Business Name Registration in 15 minutes.  They can also process their business name registration application with the help of the new DTI EBNRS (Enhanced Business Registration System) which allows a Business Center to process the application online and print out the Business Name Registration Certificate in one click.

The Business Centers also have a DTI Consumer Welfare desk as well as an National Statistics Office (NSO) desk .

The NSO desk facilitates the application, processing, and releasing of copies of civil registry documents. These include copies of birth, death, and marriage documents, copies of No Record of Marriage (CENOMAR) and copies of annotated and endorsed documents.

The Business Centers are located at most SM Supermalls all over the country.
