Young creative people invited to Ideation Camp for social enterprise

Are you a young person with bright ideas on how to make things better through social enterprise?

If you are, you may wish to join the “I am a Changemaker Social Enterprise Ideation” Camp on October 23 to 29 organized by the British Council and the Peace and Equity Foundation.”

The camp will bring together young people from ages 18-28 who would like to explore their creative side in a venue conducive to exchange and collaboration on  groundbreaking social innovation through social enterprise.

Ideas generated during the camp that best fit the Changemaker criteria gets seed funding of P100,000 each for implementation.

The camp program includes workshops and training sessions under British social entrepreneur Paul Harrod from Bristol Together and Vince Rapisura and Edwin Salonga from the Social Enterprise Development Partnerships Inc (SEDPI).

Harrod is the chief executive of Bristol Together CIC – a new social enterprise partnership creating employment for ex-offenders through the repair and refurbishment of empty properties. Bristol Together was voted the Social Enterprise of the year for 2011. He has a wide experience of supporting innovation in the health and public sector service delivery.

Rapisura and Salonga co-manage the SEDPI Group of Social Enterprises, which provides innovative capacity building and alternative finance services to microfinance institutions and social enterprises.

Aside from training sessions, camp participants will also visit existing social enterprises and interact with young entrepreneurs.
