Leverage your business by learning IT/Internet tools, SMEs urged

Internet business

Micro and small businesses can  increase their market, achieve optimal operations,  put up efficient productivity systems, and generally promote their competitiveness by learning and applying the latest Internet and IT tools and strategies, including social-media platforms.

This is the rationale for the three-day  The Internet and Your Business  course to be conducted by the SERDEF on  November 21, 23 and 24 at UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) Building. Diliman, Quezon City.

According to SERDEF Technical Adviser Serenidad Lavador, there are still a few slots available in the training program.

The program is a flipped-classroom type of action learning that can immediately be applied to one’s business.  Every meeting day will provide participants with five applications, taught through supervised hands-on exercises.

Day 1 will tackle surfing the net, nailing one’s online business strategy, marketing by social media, rapid market surveys, buying and selling products and services in the net, and best practices in the Net.

On Day 2, participants will be able to design, build, and create content for their own respective business websites, as well as build traffic or readership base.

Day 3 is all about operating and growing an online business, including security and the Net, Internet accounting, customer relations management systems, and other e-commerce basics.

The Internet and Your Business will be handled by Dr. Eduardo Canela, an international consultant and trainer who specializes in social entrepreneurship promotion, small enterprise development, technology development, and innovative educational programs.  He has worked in 40 countries  in East Asia, Far East, South Asia, the Pacific Rim Territories, Africa, the Middle East, East and Western Europe, and the United States under the auspices of the ADB, UNIDO, UNDP, ILO, GTZ, and the World Bank, among others.
