The Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) recently launched “Shell Ideas360,” a global competition encouraging young achievers at university/college level to develop and present ideas that will contribute to tackling crucial national challenges in energy, water and food availability.

The program was announced at the Mandarin Oriental Manila Hotel to an audience of university faculty, administrators and students.

Shell Ideas 360 seeks to develop meritorious ideas into potentially investment-worthy business projects with mentoring by experts.

For interested students, the following are steps to take in participating in the program:

1)      Students individually or in groups submit their initial idea, which will then be evaluated by a panel of experts from Shell.  The ideas submitted are then shortlisted to 100.

2)      Shortlisted entries will then be further developed with the help of Shell mentors and subject matter experts.  These will then be evaluated.

3)      Five teams or individuals  will finally be chosen and invited to the Shell Eco-Marathon Europe in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in May to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.

Shell Ideas 360 is aligned with the company’s commitment to developing Filipino talents into world-class leaders, according to Shell Philippines Exploration B. V. Asset manager Sebastian Quiniones.  It is also in sync with Shell’s objective of driving progress in the development of better future energy systems.
