Go Negosyo summit to highlight women entrepreneurship

Women entrepreneurs and their contributions to economic development will be the highlight of the Go Negosyo Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit to be held on March 6 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The Summit is a yearly activity organized by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc. otherwise known as Go Negosyo.

The event aims to equip Filipino women with the enabling concepts, tools, values and attitudes to pursue successful ventures, especially in job-creating, income-generating entrepreneurial activities.

The Summit will feature various discussion forums on major aspects of women empowerment, including:  Case stories of inspiring Filipina entrepreneurs; home-based entrepreneurship; the complete women (various women concerns); and direct selling and franchising.

Of interest to start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs are individual mentoring sessions with experienced entrepreneurs or “angelpreneurs.”

Among the speakers are Senator Cynthia Villar, Senator Grace Poe, Congresswomen Lani Robredo, and Tessie Sy-Coson of ShoeMart.

The Summit will honor the “Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs of 2015” awardees whiuch include Myrna Bituin of Betis Crafts, Patis Tesoro of Patis Tesoro Shop, Nanette Medved of Friends of Hope, Celinda de Guia of Ovation Productions, Emma Imperial of Imperial Homes Corporation, and Josephine See of Peanut World.

Lifetime Achievement Awards for entrepreneurs in education will be given to Socorro Ramos of National Book Store and Ester Vibal of Vibal Publishing.
